When is Election Day in Shutesbury?
The Shutesbury Annual Town Election and Annual Town Meeting will both be held on: Saturday, May 9, 2026
Where do I vote?
In-person voting and the Town Meeting take place at: Shutesbury Elementary School, 23 West Pelham Road, Shutesbury, MA 01072
What are the polling hours?
Ballot Voting: Polls will be open from 8:30am to 3:30pm.
Town Meeting: Starts at 9:00 AM.
(Note that Annual Town Meeting begins at 9am but the polls will be open half an hour before that.)

How do I register to vote?
The deadline to register for the May 9th election is Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
Online: You can register to vote at the Massachusetts Secretary of State website.
By Mail: Forms for registering can be downloaded online or requested from the Town Clerk.
In Person: Visit Town Hall during the Town Clerk’s regular hours.

Can I vote by mail?
Yes. "No-excuse" early voting by mail is available now.
Note that even if you voted by mail in past elections, the Secretary of the Commonwealth requires a new Vote By Mail application every calendar year. You can submit a Vote By Mail application online or print it out and mail it to the Town Clerk’s office (mailing address below). After you apply for Vote By Mail, the Town Clerk will send you a Vote By Mail ballot. The Town Clerk will begin sending out the Vote By Mail ballots on April 7th.
Your Vote By Mail application must be submitted by Monday, May 4, 2026, in order to receive your Vote By Mail ballot in time for the May 9th election. Your completed Vote By Mail ballot can be returned by mail using the envelope provided with the ballot, or you can put it in the secure dropbox located next to the front driveway at Town Hall. Your completed Vote By Mail ballot must be received by 3:30pm on May 9th.
Can I vote early in person?
No. This option is not available.
